The Stiletto®
The Stiletto is an extended dwell catheter and delivery system designed to simplify the placement of a very soft catheter.
SlipStream technology utilized within Stiletto, enables reliable insertion of the catheter without the need of a guidewire, in both deep and shallow vessels.
Features & Benefits of The Stiletto
Because we are committed to improving patient and provider outcomes, the Stiletto addresses common challenges with inpatient care.
A combination of features unique to Stiletto are utilized to optimize catheter performance and dwell times.
- Soft, yet strong, catheter for optimal biocompatibility designed to increase catheter dwell times.
- Reinforced tip to decrease the risk of collapse during aspiration.
- SlipStream technology designed to enable smooth threading, even with tortuous vessels.
- Stiletto presents a smaller needle relative to the catheter diameter than most comparable products. This is intended to create a tighter seal between the vein and catheter. A smaller needle is also associated with less pain during the insertion procedure.
- An echogenic needle tip enables visualization of the needle tip with ultrasound.
- A notched needle design with a striped catheter allows for flashback detection of blood following successful venous access.
- A passive safety mechanism shields the needle tip within the device following deployment of catheter.
The device is available in a 20ga, 8 and 10cm catheter lengths, and an 18ga, 10 and 12cm catheter lengths.
